November 7, 1993 Initial Release, version 1.00
After 1 month testing on The Ether Net, HAMCALL.PPE is
released via Ham Files Distribution Network and Salt Air
BBS.
November 22, 1993 version 1.10 release
Expand install directions in the documentation. Notice
given that not all SAM distribution disk sets contain the
file SAMLOGIC.EXE, a file necessary for proper operation
of Hamcall. The program was modified to include error
messages to help the Sysop if not installed properly.
Starting with this release, the time stamp on all files
in the archive will be the version number, ie, this is
version 1.10, so the time on the files is 1:10a
May 14, 1994 version 1.20 release
Name changed to SamCall to avoid confusion with other
Amateur Radio Callsign databases's. No longer requires
SAMLOGIC.EXE to function. RT Systems has provided SCALL.EXE
which allows Samcall access to the extra data from the
database if you have purchased the options. Those options
include Full Birthday, County, Date Licensened, Previous
Call and Expiration Date. Really makes a nice addition to
SamCall. SamCall 1.20 will display this data if you have
installed the above options. Message command added, this
allows saving the data found to the message base for
capture. Caller Help function added. Because of the very
few, (Read Two) registrations since the initial release of
Hamcall, I have added a serial number function that will
display an Unregistered message until the serial number is
entered. Not what I wanted to do, but seems necessary.
May 29, 1994 version 1.21 release
Maintenance release. Added code to strip leading and
trailing spaces from lines 4 and 5 in the SAMCALL.CFG file.
Some text editors don't strip trailing spaces from a file as
it is saved and this was causing SamCall to not validate the
serial number even though it was correct.
